Hi, I’m Syra Greider.
I’m a Manheim, Pennsylvania artist and the person behind Black Feather Art. I work in colored pencil, pastel, and graphite, creating artwork inspired by memory, connection, and everyday life.
I’m drawn to the things people want to hold onto—a child at a certain age, a beloved pet, or a small object with a big story. My goal is to turn those moments into personal, handmade artwork.
I also teach guided oil pastel workshops, offering a welcoming place to slow down, try something new, and create something of your own.
My Approach
My path to art has been a little unconventional. I spent years as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, developing patience, precision, and a love of careful work with my hands. While pursuing my biology degree, I began exploring art more deeply.
Independent study, practice, and professional courses continue to shape my work. I’m always learning, and I love helping workshop participants discover what they can create, too.
Outside the studio, I’m raising three young children with my husband, tending to our dogs and our little homestead, and finding inspiration in the everyday life around me.
